Profhilo for skin quality, not facial shaping

Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic-acid product used as part of a skin-remodelling plan. It is different from conventional dermal filler because the treatment is not designed to build a specific facial feature or create a sharply defined contour.

Dr Jamie assesses skin quality, laxity, hydration and the treatment area before explaining the likely course and what level of change is realistic.

The consultation keeps the treatment goal specific. Profhilo may be considered where gradual skin-quality support is the priority, while a different option may be more useful when the concern is facial shape, deeper volume change or a clearly defined line.

  1. Skin quality

Review hydration, texture, laxity and how the skin appears and feels across the proposed area during clinical assessment.

  2. Treatment purpose

Clarify whether the priority is gradual skin support rather than added contour or facial volume during clinical consultation.

  3. Course planning

Consider previous treatment, current skincare, timing and the number of appointments likely to be useful during clinical planning.

A treatment course built around your skin

Profhilo helps address skin laxity and quality by supporting collagen production and hydration. It is not a substitute for facial filler when volume replacement is needed. Dr Jamie helps you decide whether Profhilo could improve your skin quality and maintain hydration.

  • Current skincare needs and priorities

Treatment with a clear schedule

  • Plan 2–3 initial treatment sessions
  • Space initial sessions four weeks apart
  • Maintain with one treatment every 4–6 months
  • Support hydration and continued collagen production

What to expect after Profhilo

Profhilo is planned as a course of treatments, with results taking around 4–8 weeks to become noticeable. Dr Jamie explains the early appearance and how gradual skin-quality changes are reviewed over time.

The review returns to the skin concern agreed at consultation and considers the overall course, rather than using immediate volume or facial shaping as the measure of success.

Treatment dayExpect temporary raised points

Small raised points can be visible immediately after treatment and usually become less noticeable as the product begins to settle.

First few daysLet the treated skin settle

Mild redness, tenderness or bruising can resolve gradually. Follow the individual advice for skincare, exercise and touching the treated area.

Following weeksReview hydration and skin quality

Changes in hydration and skin quality develop progressively, with the course completed according to the agreed schedule during clinical review.

Longer termPlan maintenance after review

Maintenance treatment every 4–6 months helps maintain hydration and promote collagen production. Dr Jamie reviews your skin before treatment.
